As part of the Carolinas Geographic Rugby Union’s ongoing commitment to coaching and player development, the CGRU is getting a visit from the International High Performance Unit from the Crusaders. The legendary Super Rugby side from New Zealand has won a record nine Super Rugby championships included back to back titles in 2017 and 2018. Grant Keenan and Tony Flay of the Crusaders International High Performance Unit are coming to North Carolina in January to host two nights of player and coaching development clinics on January 14th-15th, 2019.
Monday January 14th is open to High School and College players and coaches in the Carolinas while Tuesday January 15th is open to Men and Women’s Club players and coaches from the Carolinas Geographic Rugby Union.
‘Our objective always is to instill the "Crusader Way" in our players/coaches,” said Flay. “We focus on the smallest details in order to master the skill with power/pace/precision. Then these basic skills will become second nature in order to be a competitive rugby player.”
