Developing rugby in the Carolinas is important to the Carolinas Geographic Rugby Union. We have identified a few categories that we believe will have a direct impact on the growth of rugby in the Carolinas.
The CGRU currently offers grants to member clubs to help support player/coach/admin development, club promotions/marketing, and equipment acquisition. These categories helping with improving the overall quality of rugby within the CGRU as well as growing our membership numbers.
Current available grants for the 2018/2019 Season:
- Level 200/300 Coaching Grant - The CGRU offers a grant to cover the registration costs for one person per club per year to go through the USA Rugby Level 200 or 300 Coaching Course. The member must be registered as a coach with a CGRU member club in good standing. After completing the course, the club must submit proof of completion of the course and a receipt for the cost of the course. The member will then be reimbursed for the cost of the Level 200 or 300 Course.
- Club Promotion and Marketing Grant - The CGRU offers grants to assist in the promotion and/or marketing of your club in order to further your club's position within your community, support community initiatives, increase playing numbers, and otherwise improve the overall promotion of your club. Clubs requesting funding are required to be full members of the CGRU and in good standing.
- Club Equipment Grant - The CGRU offers grants to assist with the purchase of equipment to help improve/expand your practice capabilities. Funds are to be used to improve the overall experience and development of your players.
- Individual Player, Coach, or Admin Grant - The CGRU offers grants to assist individual players, coaches, and club admins with development opportunities. Individuals will need to support their request as it pertains to how the opportunity will benefit the player, club, and the CGRU as a whole.
The grant submission period is open year-round or until the budgeted funds for each category are exhausted. Please note that the CGRU does not fund grants in advance. Your club is required to to submit documentation of payment receipts to the CGRU. Once received, your club will receive the grant funding.
